The SALTO MIFARE UltraLight C card is fully compliant with the ISO 14443A standard for contactless chip cards.
RFID chip cards, also known as transponder cards, are laminated plastic cards made from high-quality PVC and are equipped with a radio frequency antenna (RFID) inside. The term stands for Radio Frequency Identification.
To read the data stored on the card, no direct physical contact with the reader is required, unlike with chip and magnetic stripe cards. The data can be read at a distance of up to 10 cm.
RFID technology is most commonly used for access control at events such as trade shows, concerts, ski slopes, or airports and in the form of key and payment cards in hotels, nightclubs, or resorts. In some places, they are already used in public transportation as subscription cards or electronic tickets. Double-sided, high-gloss colored PVC cards have a thickness of 0.76 mm (30 mil). Their dimensions meet the (ISO standard) standard size of 86 x 54 mm and thus fulfill the CR-80 credit card size criterion.
