RFID smart cards, also called transponder cards, are laminated plastic cards made of high quality PVC which are equipped with a radio frequency antenna ( RFID ) inside. In English, the term stands for Radio Frequency Identification.
To read out the data stored on the card, you need, unlike chip and magnetic stripe cards, no direct physical contact with the reader. The readout can take place at a distance of up to 10 cm.
