Key lanyards are the most popular method for visibly wearing badges or name tags on the body.
In addition to the widely used plastic cards, printed paper cards can also be placed in larger holders, such as press passes, access authorizations, and much more. The badge is inserted into a protective sleeve, which is then attached to the lower end of the lanyard.
This allows individual badge holders with lanyards to be ordered according to personal needs. For example, a company can assign each department its own color. This makes it easy to distinguish who has access to which areas of the company. At large events, such color coding can also be helpful to differentiate between regular paying attendees, trade visitors, press representatives, and VIPs.
A safety clasp at the top works similarly to the clasp of a necklace, allowing the lanyard to be easily opened and removed. On the one hand, this protects the carefully styled hair of participants at events, which could be damaged when pulling the lanyard over the head. On the other hand, it provides additional safety for children if they play with the lanyard and it becomes tangled, preventing it from being removed in the usual way.
Advantages of using a lanyard:
- Reduces the risk of losing a badge
- Improves control functions
